Like Rayssiguier's previous plays, La Celidee and Les Tuileries are notable for their pastoral inspiration as well as the virtuosity of their amorous intrigues. The first is an adaptation of an episode from L'Astree, while the second revives, on a broader level, the conventions of pastoral tragicomedy.
